LG OLED TV's Magic Remote

The smart TV trend has been brewing for years already at CES, and 2012 saw a number of companies including LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, and others beef up their efforts in the realm of internet-connected televisions. LG took a few different approaches to enhancing its smart TV lineup, including launching a line of Google TVs as well as making improvements to its line of devices running LG's own Smart TV platform.

One of the notable improvements to its connected TV platform included a handful of new features for the Magic Remote, the handheld control unit shipping with all of LG's 2012 line of Smart TVs. In the new iteration of the remote we have voice control for performing various functions including surfing the web, a new rollerball for easier scrolling through menus and interfaces, a dedicated 3D button that will instantly upconvert 2D content to three-dimensional viewing with one touch, and "magic gesture" support: via an embedded camera in the TV itself, LG's Smart TV's will support physical gestures with the remote.

I found a demo of some of the new features in the LG Magic Remote in the video. Check this out.

lime-chicken-soft-tacos

I love tacos and I normally make chicken tacos. A few weeks ago, I found a good chicken taco recipe and I tried making it. At first I thought the red wine vinegar was strange, but it did add a good flavor overall :). I’d love to share the recipe. This recipe is from http://allrecipes.com/recipe/lime-chicken-soft-tacos/

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast meat - cubed
  • 1/8 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 10 (6 inch) flour tortillas
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup salsa
Directions
  1. Saute chicken in a medium saucepan over medium high heat for about 20 minutes. Add vinegar, lime juice, sugar, salt, pepper, green onion, garlic and oregano. Simmer for an extra 10 minutes.
  2. Heat an iron skillet over medium heat. Place a tortilla in the pan, warm, and turn over to heat the other side. Repeat with remaining tortillas. Serve lime chicken mixture in warm tortillas topped with tomato, lettuce, cheese and salsa.

LG's OLED TV is super thin, with minimal bezel

I just fell in love with a TV, LG’s OLED TV. LG's 55-inch OLED set was one of the major HDTV announcements at CES 2012 in Las Vegas, and if you watch anything on it for about two seconds, you'll quickly understand why. Colors are extremely vivid, blacks are pitch-black, response times are lightning-quick, and motion is unbelievably sharp. I would love to share the pictures with you.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away?

My mom always told me that “An apple a day keeps the doctor away “. When I was little, I didn’t know what was so great about apples. However, these days, I’m telling people the reason.

Health benefits of apple

·         Apples are low in calories; 100 g of fresh fruit slices provide only 50 calories. The fruits are however, contain no saturated fats or cholesterol; but rich in dietary fiber, which helps, prevent absorption of dietary LDL cholesterol in the gut. The dietary fibers also help protect the mucous membrane of the colon from exposure to toxic substances by binding to cancer causing chemicals in the colon.
·         Apple fruit contains good quantities of vitamin-C and beta-carotene. Vitamin C is a powerful natural antioxidant. Consumption of foods rich in vitamin C helps body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful, pro-inflammatory free radicals from the body.
·         In addition, apple fruit is a good source of B-complex vitamins such as riboflavin, thiamin, and pyridoxine (vitamin B-6). Together these vitamins help as co-factors for enzymes in metabolism as well as in various synthetic functions inside the body.
·         Apple also contains small amount of minerals like potassium, phosphorus, and calcium. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure; thus counters the bad influences of sodium.
There are also many great tasting recipes you can find all over the internet. Apples are mother earth’s most simple delicacies where the benefits far outweigh anything else.
